I'll have to write them down before I forget. I'm glad you're passing these stories (and mysteries) along!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16050025742245914623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8052223938107898365.post-61885771107738087302009-11-08T14:53:43.066-08:002009-11-08T14:53:43.066-08:00A brilliant suggestion from an astute friend in Fr...A brilliant suggestion from an astute friend in France:

I love a mystery!

Consider this scenario....

Lawrence Weed Emerson was born February 14, 1893 in Minnesota.

His father, William J. Emerson was born in 1866 in Minnesota to parents born in NY

His mother, Anna L. Weed, was born in Wisconsin to parents born in WI and NY

Lawrence's sister, Winnie, was born in Michigan in 1908

In 1900 the family was living in Wisconsin

In 1910 the family was living in Michigan with Lawrence's grandmother Mary B Weed living with them

Mary's Husband (thus Lawrence's maternal grandfather (?) was born in NY....

SO...........It is perfectly possible that Lawrence "had always wanted to go to NY"...where several of his grandparents had been born....

I have supporting census records for some of this if you haven't seen them....

Thanks for giving me a puzzle to solve (not that I've necessarily solved it, but it was fun trying...)

CarolPhilip Elmore Jenkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09380690620644445097noreply@blogger.com
