Jesus had serious issues with governance of his country under Roman hegemony. He might have had some hope of reforming the operation, but in the end, he stayed true to God. Some of the things he said seem applicable today, 'Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are of God'. He said we should love others as ourselves, and that his burden is light. He said we should give others more than they ask for and do more than they ask us to. It is pretty clear that what has been called Christianity has taken many forms. When one is looking for the right medicine, some still say 'Jesus is the answer'. Medicine sounds good, drugs can be problematic. I guess, as we extol his love, doctrine allows us to hold in reserve a Jesus who is going to fix the little red wagons of the real deplorables upon his return. As I think of him as the good shepherd, and a light to my feet, I tend to ignore that. Wouldn't be surprised to hear him grumble a bit though.Williamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07923215689402955499noreply@blogger.com
